In memory of fine novelist/screenwriter William Goldman who passed away November 16, 2018. What he surely thought of as a light novel and a screenplay that would make for a minor film that would play for a couple weekends has turned out to be a beloved classic three decades later.
Also, a nod to Rob Reiner who simply could not make a bad movie in those days. After a childhood in show biz, thanks to his famous TV father, an apprenticeship on television, and passing 35 years old, he embarked on an uninterrupted series of 7 great movies as director. Here they are: This is Spinal Tap (1984), The Sure Thing (1985), Stand by Me (1986), The Princess Bride (1987), When Harry Met Sally. . . (1989), Misery (1990), and A Few Good Men (1992).
